Pastor and Spouse Retreat
By editor - 10/27/2009 Dear Brothers and Sisters, I wanted to share with you a few of the highlights of the 2009 Pastors and Spouses retreat. We spent three days in the gorgeous hills near Asheboro NC. While the trees were beautiful in their color, the weather wasn’t always so beautiful – two days of rain. Nonetheless we were able to get out and hike around the lake and take in some of the beauty. Dan Prietrzyk led us in times of reflection around the theme of navigating the rapids of ministry. Our interactions better equipped us to understand the cycles which many pastors pass through in their years of ministry. We shared in communion, very creative worship, lots of conversation around meals and some of the most gut-busting hilarious skits you can imagine. I pray that if you were not able to join us that you might find some equally refreshing times of rest this fall. On a different topic, we have been asked to remind our churches that November is sweeps month. Please enter your attendance records into the database online. You should have received notification in the mail regarding the online procedures. Blessings to each of you, Tim Rodgers Ministerium Vice Secretary

In, 2000, the first permanent building was completed on a 36 acres campus. In 2005, the congregation moved into a new Worship Center. Easter Sunday in Deland

Branching Out OCC 2008
By editor - 3/1/2009 Operation Christmas Child Each year Kallam Grove Church teens in North Carolina team up with Samaritan’s Purse, a Billy Graham Ministry, to help their church in preparing shoe boxes filled with toys and other items for shipment across the globe .In addition, they also volunteer in Charlotte, NC, one of the six processing centers located in the United States in preparing the boxes for the shipment process. 1.94 million shoe boxes were sent through the Charlotte center this season for distribution around the world. This is a hands- on mission opportunity. As one volunteer said “I may not be able to do mission work on a foreign field yet, but I can be a missionary by helping send shoe boxes that bring the Gospel to those who need to receive it.” In addition to the boxes that are filled with everything from toothpaste to toys, every box is accompanied by Gospel literature in the native language, wherever the destination. Operation Christmas Child’s mission effort had yielded 14.5 million boxes world wide this year and still counting. We want to challenge other churches in our Southeast Conference to get involved! Together we can reach millions of children in need with the joy of Christmas and the hope of Jesus Christ!
